WatchDog Health ("the app") is developed and maintained by an independent solo developer. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your health data.
Data Collection and Usage
Health Data We Access
WatchDog Health requests access to the following health data from Apple HealthKit:
- Heart Rate Variability (HRV): Used to display your HRV measurements, charts, and statistics
- Sleep Analysis: Used to filter HRV readings taken during sleep when you enable the "Sleeping HRV Only" setting
How We Use Your Data
Your health data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Displaying your current HRV measurements
- Generating 24-hour, weekly, and monthly charts
- Calculating statistics (minimum, average, maximum values)
- Sending low HRV alert notifications (when enabled)
- Displaying HRV information in watch face complications
Data Storage
- Local Storage Only: All your health data is processed and stored locally on your Apple Watch and is never transmitted to any external servers
- No Remote Access: The developer has no access to your health data
- No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to any cloud services or third-party servers
- App Group Sharing: Data is shared between the main app and watch complications using Apple's App Groups technology, which remains entirely on your device
- Settings Storage: Your preferences (chart themes, alert thresholds, etc.) are stored in UserDefaults on your device
Data We DO NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information
- We do not track your usage or behavior
- We do not use analytics or tracking services
- We do not share your data with third parties
- We do not sell your data
- The developer cannot access your data
Permissions
HealthKit Authorization
When you first use WatchDog Health, you will be asked to grant permission to:
- Read Heart Rate Variability data
- Read Sleep Analysis data
You can revoke these permissions at any time through:
- iPhone Health app → Browse → Heart → Heart Rate Variability → Data Access & Devices
- iPhone Health app → Browse → Sleep → Sleep Analysis → Data Access & Devices
Notification Permission
If you enable Low HRV Alerts, the app will request permission to send you notifications. You can manage this permission in your device settings.
Data Security
- All data access is protected by Apple's HealthKit security framework
- Data is stored using Apple's secure storage mechanisms
- No network transmission of health data occurs
- No data is accessible to the developer
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your health data through the Apple Health app
- Revoke app permissions at any time
- Delete the app and all associated local data
Children's Privacy
WatchDog Health does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app requires an Apple Watch, which necessitates being at least 13 years old per Apple's terms of service.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Data Retention
- Data is retained only while the app is installed
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences
- Your health data remains in Apple Health and is not affected by uninstalling the app

WatchDog Health does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
