WatchDog Health is developed and maintained by an independent solo developer as a personal project. This is a free tool provided "as is" for personal wellness tracking only.

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using WatchDog Health ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use WatchDog Health for personal, non-commercial purposes on your Apple Watch.

Not a Medical Device

  • WatchDog Health is NOT a medical device
  • This app is NOT intended for medical diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any disease or condition
  • This app is for informational and general wellness purposes ONLY

No Medical Advice

  • The app provides no medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
  • HRV data displayed is for personal interest and fitness tracking only
  • The developer is not a medical professional
  • No doctor-patient relationship is created by using this app

Do Not Rely on This App for Health Decisions

  • Never make medical decisions based on information from this app
  • Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical advice
  • Do not ignore professional medical advice because of anything displayed in this app
  • In case of medical emergency, call emergency services immediately

Alert Limitations

  • Low HRV alerts are informational reminders only, NOT medical warnings
  • Alerts may be inaccurate, delayed, or fail to trigger
  • Do not rely on alerts for health monitoring
  • The app cannot and does not diagnose any medical condition

Individual Variation

  • HRV values vary significantly between individuals
  • What is normal for one person may not be normal for another
  • The app cannot determine what HRV values are healthy for you personally
  • Only a qualified healthcare provider can interpret your health data

Use at Your Own Risk

BY USING THIS APP, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT ALL RISKS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Risk of inaccurate data or calculations
  • Risk of missed or failed notifications
  • Risk of software bugs or malfunctions
  • Risk of misinterpreting health information
  • Any health consequences from decisions made based on app information

Permitted Use

You may use WatchDog Health to:

  • View your Heart Rate Variability (HRV) data from Apple Health
  • Track personal wellness metrics for informational purposes
  • Set personal reminders about HRV changes
  • Display HRV information on your watch face

Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the app for medical, diagnostic, or treatment purposes
  • Use the app for any commercial purposes
  • Rely on the app for health or safety decisions
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws
  • Share, sell, or distribute the app

No Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER.

The developer makes NO WARRANTIES, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • No warranty of accuracy - Data and calculations may be incorrect
  • No warranty of reliability - The app may malfunction or fail
  • No warranty of fitness for any purpose - The app may not meet your needs
  • No warranty of merchantability
  • No warranty of availability - The app may be discontinued at any time
  • No warranty regarding Apple Watch sensor accuracy

You use this app entirely at your own risk.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY NORWEGIAN AND EU LAW:

No Liability for Damages

The developer shall NOT be liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to:

  • Personal injury or death
  • Health complications or medical emergencies
  • Misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis
  • Lost data or device damage
  • Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Any damages arising from use or inability to use the app
  • Any damages from reliance on app information
  • Any damages from software bugs or malfunctions

Maximum Liability

In no event shall the developer's total liability exceed €0 (zero euros), as this is a free application.

Mandatory Consumer Rights

Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory consumer rights under Norwegian or EU law that cannot be waived by contract.

Your Responsibilities

By using this app, you agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for all health and medical decisions
  • You will consult healthcare professionals for medical guidance
  • You will not rely on this app for health or safety purposes
  • You understand HRV measurements depend on Apple Watch sensor accuracy
  • You are responsible for properly configuring and monitoring the app
  • You accept all risks associated with using this app

Availability and Updates

  • The app is provided "as is" and "as available"
  • The developer may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time without notice or liability
  • Updates may be provided at the developer's sole discretion
  • Features may be added, modified, or removed without notice
  • The developer has no obligation to maintain or support the app

Data and Privacy

By using the app, you acknowledge that:

  • All data processing occurs locally on your device
  • The developer has no access to your health data
  • You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time

Intellectual Property

  • WatchDog Health and all associated content are owned by the developer
  • You acquire no ownership rights by using the app
  • This is a license to use, not a transfer of ownership

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the app
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Any health-related decisions you make based on app information
  • Any violation of applicable laws or third-party rights
  • Any claims that your use of the app caused injury or harm

Termination

  • The developer may terminate your access at any time without notice
  • You may terminate by uninstalling the app
  • All disclaimers and limitations of liability survive termination

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by Norwegian law
  • Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Norwegian courts
  • Place of jurisdiction: Oslo, Norway
  • You waive any objection to venue or jurisdiction in Norway

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

No Support Obligation

  • The developer provides no guarantee of support or assistance
  • Bug fixes and updates are provided at the developer's sole discretion
  • Response to inquiries may be delayed or unavailable

Apple-Specific Terms

  • These Terms are between you and the developer, not Apple
  • Apple is not responsible for the app or its content
  • Apple has no warranty obligations
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims
  • You must comply with Apple's App Store Terms of Service
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms

HealthKit-Specific Terms

  • Health data accessed through HealthKit is used solely for displaying in the app
  • No health data is shared with third parties
  • No health data is sold or used for advertising
  • You must comply with all applicable HealthKit requirements

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding use of the app.

Changes to Terms

  • The developer may modify these Terms at any time
  • Changes are effective immediately upon posting
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
  • Check these Terms periodically for updates
